Press trip - Western Australia
Target audience
Italian media journalists
The brief
Organize and escort a group press trip through one of the most beautiful regions of Western Australia: the Coral Coast.
The project
In March 2024 TWA Italian team, in cooperation with Singapore Airlines, organized and managed a dedicated press trip for a group of Italian journalists, with the purpose to familiarize them with the State and the Coral Coast region.
The group included 3 journalists representing a good selection of female and family magazines (ELLE, F, Natural Style, Style Piccoli) plus nr. 1 online national daily Repubblica.it.
One of the 8-days itinerary's highlights around Western Australia was the Dirk Hartog island’s captivating history: this is where the first European explorers arrived in WA! The island also features a promising sustainability project called “Return to 1616” and aiming to bring the nature back to that time, when it was still untouched and wild. The trip also included different National Parks, adventurous experiences to enjoy the breathtaking landscapes of WA and meaningful activities to discover the ancient Aboriginal culture, dating 60.000 years back in time.
The trip began with a 1-night stay in the capital city, in the central area of Perth CBD where the group enjoyed a guided city tour exploring street art and hidden gems such as local bars and small restaurants.
On the second day the group flew to Monkey Mia, the base for the following 3 nights in WA.
The highlights during the stay in the area included the exploration of the pristine François Peron National Park, with the amazing contrast between its red sands and the blue ocean, escorted by a local Aboriginal guide. The experience has been followed by a day trip in the amazing Dirk Hartog Island, meeting part of the family running the only lodge on the island and representing the only people living there all year round.
The following stop was in Kalbarri National Park to admire the mesmerizing rock formations overlooking the Murchison River, where the group enjoyed a kayaking experience before a special dinner along the river. A scenic flight above the Abrolhos Islands awaited the group the following day to enjoy a great adventure exploring the less known parts of this incredible coast.
Before heading back to Perth, the group stopped in Geraldton and the Pinnacles Desert: an unbelievable landscape of golden sand, stones and dunes.
The Swan Valley welcomed the group before flying back home with its charming vineyards and an exclusive bush-tucker experience led by an expert Aboriginal guide, tracing back the impressive knowledge and values of the traditional custodians of this land.
