The Brief

Tourism Australia continues to strengthen its efforts and investment in engaging tour operators, helping them develop and enrich new offers and travel packages for the market while boosting their confidence and knowledge in promoting the destination.

To further enhance their expertise, the team organized a FAM trip specifically for key booking staff from the main tour operators.

The Project

The Tourism Hub team welcomed eight key booking specialists from leading Italian tour operators on an exclusive educational journey through South Australia and Victoria. The goal was to immerse them in the extraordinary, one-of-a-kind tourism experiences these two states have to offer.

From the vibrant flavors of Adelaide’s Central Market to the wild beauty of Kangaroo Island and Fleurieu Peninsula, the South Australia itinerary offered an unforgettable encounter with Australia’s iconic wildlife – koalas, kangaroos, playful sea lions, and even a swim with wild dolphins – alongside a meaningful introduction to Aboriginal culture through a curated, locally-led Bushtucker tour along the Limestone Coast.

In Victoria, the group explored must-see landmarks such as the Twelve Apostles along the legendary Great Ocean Road, soaked in Melbourne’s creative spirit, and experienced the city from a fresh perspective with a unique kayak tour on the Yarra River. They also discovered quieter gems like Phillip Island, home to thriving penguin colonies, and French Island, where over 20 koalas were spotted during a brief two-hour visit.

Organized in partnership with Qatar Airways, the journey also highlighted the airline’s premium onboard experience, including a Business Class segment that elevated the trip even further.
